Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to your use of gvagaragedoors.ca and to services booked with GVA Doors & Garage Doors Ltd., operating as GVA Garage Doors ("we", "us"). Together with our Privacy Policy and Cancellation Policy, they form the agreement between you and us. By using the website or booking a service, you accept these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the website or book a service.

1. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The current version and its "Last updated" date are always posted on this page. Please check it from time to time. Continuing to use the website or our services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

2. Using the website

You may use this website to learn about our services, request estimates and book appointments for your own, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

  • Copy, frame or display the site's content with another company's branding, or suggest a relationship with us that doesn't exist
  • Scrape, data-mine or collect information from the site with automated tools
  • Collect personal information about other users
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent who you are
  • Interfere with the site's security or try to access its source code

3. Our services

We repair, install and maintain garage doors, garage door openers, springs, cables, tracks, remotes, wireless keypads, weatherstripping and locks, as well as commercial, storefront, entry, sliding and pocket doors, and we sell related parts. Services are available within our service area in Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. We try to keep information on the website accurate and current, but it may change; call us to confirm details.

4. Booking and appointments

  • Each service is a separate order, even when several are booked together. We may offer a discount for multiple jobs at the same address.
  • You, or an adult representative aged 18 or older who can approve and pay for the work, must be at the service address for the whole appointment window.
  • If no one is available when the technician arrives, a reduced service fee applies to cover the technician's time and travel.
  • We book jobs with qualified technicians and handle payment between you and the technician. We mediate any disagreement about the work and aim for a fair outcome for both sides.

5. Pricing and fees

  • A $65 service call fee applies to diagnostic visits. It is waived if you go ahead with the recommended repair.
  • Prices quoted before a technician inspects the door are estimates. The final price may change if the job needs more parts or labour than expected; we will always explain and agree on any change before the work begins.
  • An emergency service fee may apply to calls after hours, on weekends or on holidays. We'll tell you the amount before we dispatch.
  • A rescheduling fee may apply to new door installations if no one is home or the site isn't ready on the booked date.
  • All prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude GST.

6. Payment

  • Payment is due when the work is completed, unless your invoice says otherwise. We accept credit cards.
  • Invoices must be paid by the due date shown. Overdue invoices are subject to an additional fee of at least $120.

7. Cancellations

  • Please cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment.
  • For same-day bookings, cancel at least 4 hours before the appointment time.
  • Make sure you receive confirmation of the cancellation. Outside office hours, leave a voicemail with your name, address and appointment time.
  • Appointments not cancelled as described above are charged a $65 + GST fee, payable within 24 hours.

8. Parts

  • Parts ordered by a technician for your job require a $100 deposit. The balance is due once the part is installed.
  • Special-order parts ordered by a technician are processed right away and can't be returned or refunded.
  • Parts ordered through our office can be cancelled within 3 hours of ordering.
  • If you ask us to order a part before a technician has diagnosed the problem, a $90 deposit applies and is credited when the part is installed. If that part turns out not to fix the problem, the deposit covers our service fee.
  • Parts you buy to install yourself are paid in full, including shipping, when ordered. Unopened parts can be returned for a restocking fee; you are responsible for returning them.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by suppliers, but we will keep you informed.
  • Technicians leave the work area clean. Old parts are recycled the same day unless you ask to keep them.

9. Warranty

  • Repairs and installations: 1 year on parts and labour.
  • Garage door springs: 3 years.
  • Garage door opener motors: 6 to 25 years manufacturer warranty, depending on the brand and model.
  • Sliding glass door roller replacement: 1 year.
  • Continuous hinge installation: 5 years.

10. Refunds

If you're not satisfied with the work, email [email protected] and we'll work with you to make it right. A partial refund may be offered with the technician's agreement. Service call fees and labour already performed are non-refundable.

11. Intellectual property

All content on this website, including text, images, logos and design, belongs to us or is used with permission and is protected by copyright. You may view and print it for personal, non-commercial use, keeping all copyright notices. You may not copy, sell or republish it without our written permission.

12. Limitation of liability

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our control, such as severe weather, natural disasters, power or internet outages, supplier shortages, labour disputes or government action. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under British Columbia consumer protection law.

13. Ending access

We may suspend or end access to the website for anyone who breaks these Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you have a dispute with us, please email [email protected] first so we can try to resolve it. If we can't, the dispute will be handled by the courts of British Columbia.

15. General

  • Notices we send by email are effective when delivered to the address you gave us.
  • If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
  • If any part of these Terms is found invalid, the rest still applies.
  • These Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cancellation Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the website and our services.
