I am pleased to provide this "PERFECT" rating for GVA Doors and Garage Doors! I first engaged Ross years ago when the spring broke on my garage door and it ended up ripping the arm right out of the garage. Rather than tell me I had to get new door in, Ross MacGyvered a bracket that was able to handle the weight and saved me thousands. Brilliant solution really. I was so impressed with Ross that I kept his phone number in my phone under "Garage Guy Ross" in case I ever need help again. Well last night the other spring broke on my 23 year old garage door, so I texted him. Within minutes he replied, and we talked on the phone. Since I had no car in the garage, and thus no emergency need, Ross arranged to come out the very next morning. He even remembered me and the unique job he did last time over five years later. As a returning customer, he offered me slightly better pricing than usual, and much less than the local companies would charge. The main thing for me, is I knew I had a guy I can trust coming. Ross set a time to be here, communicated with me when he was ten minutes away, and arrived as scheduled. We had a great discussion about other things in our lives as he easily replaced my spring. Fixing a garage spring is likely the easy part, but the best part was Ross values the relationships with his clients. A day with a broken spring on your garage door can be really frustrating, especially when it is a Saturday when most of the repair companies are closed. Luckily I found GVA as one of the few that open 24x7 by searching online. In 20 min I met Ross at my front door, who was a highly experienced door repair professional. My door had only one big spring and it was a very scary moment when the door suddenly dropped down to the ground heavily when that only spring broke. Ross suggested me to replace it with two smaller springs instead (with no extra cost) so that they can provide the same power but a much better balance and redundancy. When he finished the work, he identified another broken part of my door, which was a hinge of the door panel this time. I've been hearing the strange cracking noise all the time but didn't know where it came from until Ross told me - the hinge was heavily bent and could not attach to the panel properly and the screws were all off position. Ross quickly removed and readjusted it using his tools and fixed very nicely, and my daily cracking sound was gone! I thought he would charge me for the extra fix but he said it was free. Just amazing - both the skills and the personality! I wanted to give a six star but too bad there's only a max of five I could choose. Having a broken spring was initially not a happy thing, but I'm really glad that I found GVA and Ross and next time if there's anything else I know who I'm gonna call.

Had a spring break on my garage door on a Saturday - of course. Never a good time for a failure, but they always seem to happen on a weekend. Door could not be opened so my car was trapped inside. I called GVA based on all the positive reviews and BBB rating and am happy I did. Answering service was very professional and advised that they could send a tech over at 7:30am Sunday. Not too bad. However, 30 minutes later Ross called my cell and I explained the issue. He advised that he would come over within the hour. Great, but I am skeptical because most trades are either late or no show sadly. Ross arrived early, had replacement parts in his truck and repaired the door in an hour. Punctual, polite & professional. Ross also tuned and lubricated the door so it works beautifully. This is a recurring theme in the reviews I have read so hats off to GVA and Ross for the great work that they do. Happy to recommend them to everyone I know. Thanks for the exemplary service.

Quality of job was as expected; there was a month of delay above from scheduled timeframe likely due to the current state of global trade; as a minor comment it would be great to have every contractor to clean the work area in full but that may as come unrealistic wish as I did not see yet a single company which had that in their agenda, so some mess still needs to be cleaned after; second minor recommendation to owner - Ross to make reminders as to overall communication, and inspire his team be more verbose on providing suggested ongoing maintenance; Amar brand looks as a great choice while their glass windows I chose might not be ideal for our area as they create a condensate inside the glass with excessive moisture during frosty days; they should had them done with plastic as it has way better insulation compared to glass. The reviews speak for themselves! Ross and his company GVA garage doors are exceptionally great and so friendly. Our garage door's spring broke and unfortunately could not be opened, I called GVA at 5:57pm, spoke to someone who took my information down and forwarded to their tech who worked in my area. at 6:22pm received a call from the tech who happened to be Ross who manages GVA Garage doors. Within an hour he was at my place and by 8:30pm the garage was up and running and also fixed a few smalls things to maintain it. If that's not excellent customer service I don't know what is then. I am very thankful for his kindness and pricing which was reasonable especially after hours. He explained everything that he was going to do and you can just tell he's been doing this for a while. Wife booked appointment with GVA to take a look at our noisy and semi functioning garage door. Quick response, and Deny and Jay showed up during the appointment and were quick to assess and explain the setup and potential issues. They offered clear information on what issues should be addressed and honest opinion on what items could wait a bit. I ended up having them replace majority of the parts since they are already working on it. They worked quick and efficient, replaced all the parts in no time and also suggested some areas that could use improvements to strengthen the hinges since our door is larger than average. All the work was done quick, and when testing it upon completion, I noticed a big difference. Quiet garage door. Spring and cables were tight to support the heavy door. Great guys, would recommend to anyone needing work done on garage doors.

I am extremely pleased with the quality of workmanship and the professionalism with which the technician (whom, I learned at the end of the day, was the actual owner of the business) from GVA Garage Doors dealt with my problem. The technician came prepared with all the tools, took very little time to figure out what the problem was, gave me a very fair evaluation of the situation with alternatives and finished the work in a record time. He also gave me advise on how to better maintain the door and on the possible problems with it that I might encounter in the future. On top of everything, he gave me a considerable discount and offered me a second remote. I highly recommend this company, especially for emergency cases since they have a 24/7 operation. contacted GVA garage regarding my garage issue and the receptionist on the phone was very pleasant to speak to and she arranged for someone to call me back. Ross called me back quite quickly and was able to come same day to take a look and gave us couple of options of what we can do and also gave suggestions. After discussing my options with my husband, we decided to replace the whole garage motor/opener. I asked him to give me couple of garage unit options that he thinks would be good. He came back again and installed the garage motor/opener and also went over the functions usage with me etc. He also gave me some helpful tips on garage door maintenance. He was very throughout and took the time to explain and answered all my questions that I had. Professional, great communication and knowledgeable. Highly recommend Ross for garage repairs!

I have a 2015 townhouse near Guildford Center, the garage door opener stopped working. I searched on the internet for a service company to have it fixed. The GVA has the best ratings from over 50 reviews. I made the call, and scheduled a time for the technician to come. I am very happy that I searched on the internet for a good company, then made the call, and waited for the schedule. I am very happy with the service, the cost and the results. Before I searched on the internet, my realtor recommended someone to me. As I had a few bad experience with recommended persons by friends, I decided to do the research myself this time. In the future, if I need a service, I will search the internet, find the best rated company, figure out the reviews are real, then go for it. By the way, I used my cell phone to do the search.

Garage door was pushed in slightly after being hit. My neighbour and I (we share the door in the complex) repaired the door but we wanted it checked. GVA had not installed the door or the opener. I called them because other companies had a higher minimum charge and I thought that the service person might say to leave things as they were unless we were fussy. It turned out that a cable needed to be rethreaded. That did not take very long at all, and the resulting fee, mentioned in advance, was a little more than the minimum from other companies. Perhaps as the time was short, the service guy also straightened the door panel quite a bit. That was not expected, but it is appreciated. In short, I am happy that GVA responded the same day and their work appears to be very good.

Amazing service by Ross Grishin. I called GVA garage doors at 5 pm on Saturday of the Easter long weekend, not only did he answer the phone he said he would be at my location within an hour and he was! He shared the issues and the options available including costs and my door opener was replaced by noon the next morning - SUNDAY. Ross was informative, prompt and very professional and even disposed of the broken lift. Sometimes in this life we make a huge difference in someones life not realizing the impact. I am going for surgery soon and would not be able to lift this door manually. I have a million things to do to prepare. This fast service has taken a lot of stress off my shoulders. My garage door springs broke in the morning, I called GVA in the afternoon and they were there to do repairs in 2 hours. The rod on my garage door was not good and Ross spent more than 1 hour trying to make it work but it needed a new bar. Ross was straight forward, did not charge me anything extra for labour. Was there the very next day with all the parts and completed the repairs very professionally. The type of service I received, I would have paid more money in labour anytime. And my total was even less than what i was quoted. I felt that Ross was very honest as in this type of situation when I was stuck i would have paid any more money I had to but I felt I was treated very fairly and the price was very good. Keep up the excellent work.

I called GVA Garage to do an emergency garage door repair because my door won't close all the way. I found this company on the Internet. After placing the call with the answering service, I received a call back from Ross who said he could be at my house in about an hour. An hour went by and Ross called to say that he would be 15 min late. Wow, that was professionalism at its best. So rare to get a call like that from trades nowadays. Ross came and worked on the door. Fixed the problem and even did a minor service on my door. He also gave me some helpful tips on garage door maintenance. Ross was great. Very professional. Thank you. Just got my garage door fixed minutes ago. Excellent service! Ross is really good at what he does and will educate you as well with what you need to know about your garage door system. I was fixing my garage door by myself, and already replaced the motor with a new one until I figured out that the tension spring was the problem. I was hesitant to do it on my own due to lack of tools and experience so I did my research online and found this. I was looking for someone who can be trusted and will not rip me off. I'm glad that this is the one I chose among other 5-star rated garage door service providers after hours of research and inquiries. I am very much sure that he will not take advantage of you.

My garage door spring broke after dinner time. Just what I needed. Well I proceeded to call multiple door repair ads to try and have it repaired the same night. I then called GVA DOORS and Ross was at my house within 45 minutes. He arrived and quoted me on replacing just the broken spring and/or both. I appreciated him giving me both options. I decided on replacing both and he proceeded to replace them in a quick and professional manner. I was asking questions throughout and he was more than willing to answer them. Extremely satisfied with the service from GVA Garage doors and Ross. Our garage door spring broke Wednesday morning. Made a call to them at 8am and Ross was able to stop by 2 hours later. We discussed replacing the spring, but we both agreed it was time to replace my 40 year old wooden garage door, with a new one. Ross manually lifted my wooden garage door so I can get my cars out for the day. We then looked over my options for a new door, placed the order that day and got a new garage door installed by Friday. Professional, honest, friendly, fast, reliable, and competitive pricing. When our garage door stopped working in the up position I really wasn't sure what I was going to do. I had visions of "Camping out" over night in the garage to keep everything secure. I started to funnel through all the different garage door service centers and luckily chose GVA Garage Doors. I called and they said someone would be right out in about an hour! Sure enough somebody was at the garage door in about 45 minutes. The garage door was fixed in less than an hour!! Unlike other competing organizations, Ross from Surrey answered my call (rather than voicemail hell) and immediately booked my appointment. I’ve dealt with GVA Garage Doors several times in the past 4 years, initially to replace the springs on my existing door, then to replace my garage door opener, and most recently to replace my garage door itself. I My most frequent contact has been with Ross, who does excellent work but also takes the time to explain what he is doing and why, and to answer any questions or concerns I might have, without trying to ‘upsell’ me, which I appreciate. My new garage door was installed quickly and efficiently, and exactly as promised on my initial order. The products I’ve bought from GVA Garage Doors have been of good quality, and I’ve found their service to be excellent.

Our old garage door needed a new spring, but also really needed replacement. So GVA fixed the spring on the old one, ordered a whole new door for us and then did not charge us for the spring since we were purchasing a completely new unit. This was an awesome piece of customer service. When the new door was ready for install, the installation guys were excellent and got the job done within a few hours. Our garage was warmer during the winter due to the new insulated door and the app for opening/closing the door has been very useful for our kids to come and go easily. GVA did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them.

5 STAR! Fast, professional, knowledgable and extremely reasonable priced. GVA Garage doors were recommended by a friend. After determining the tension spring was broken I called Ross at 9pm on a Friday night asking if he could come out and fix my garage door the next day - a Saturday and preferable EARLY. As a single mom I very little time and value professional and honest contractors. Not only did he show up within the time frame promised but the work was done effectively and quickly, taking the broken spring with him and me with a working garage door and a trusted door & lock contractor in my rolodex.

GVA Doors did an absolutely marvellous job on repairing my garage door. I had to have the bottom 2 sections (no longer manufactured) replaced. GVA Doors found replacement panels that matched the rest of my garage door. I phoned 4 other places and none of them would take the time to find the match. GVA saved me more than 60% when compared to the other options available to me. The staff was friendly and showed up on time as promised. They were quick efficient, and knowledgeable. It has now been several months and the garage door works perfectly and looks great. I highly recommend GVA Doors !!

1 word Amazing!! We contacted GVA Garage Doors after our Garage door was left in Shambles by "The Doorman"! Please DO NOT EVER contact the "Doorman", they are absolutely the worst, and damaged our garage cables.. GVA Doors to the rescue! We contacted Ross and he came the following morning right on time, assessed everything and restored out garage back to 100% in about an hour! He was friendly, reasonable and 100% honest to the job! Called GVA Garage Doors, excellent customer service on the phone!! Listened to me and knew the issues right away. Send out rep right away to come and give an estimate and solved the issue. Within 1 hour my problem was solved. The technician told me what the issue was and explained what he was doing and why the garage door didn't work. I would have given GVA 5 stars out of 5 but they sent 7 reminders via email reminding me to do a google review on them-that was too much! Other than that, would I call GVA again, yes! I had a problem with my garage motor, I found GVA Garage Doors via Google, called Ross and got a quick response from him, he adviced me to buy at Lowes since they were on sale.. He came in promptly the next day and very quickly and efficiently fixed everything including the tension spring and repaired as well the hinges for a fraction of a cost. He was very polite and professional. I was pleasantly surprised by the very minimal fee he charged for his services. I would recommend GVA to anyone looking for quick professional service. Came across GVA online while shopping around for a replacement garage door motor. Ross was not only the best price, but was also the only available technician to come the same day. Having had another company replace my other garage door motor only a few months ago, I can commend Ross on his thoroughness in comparison. His Custom made bracket is much more secure with wires wrapped up properly. Some extra work on my tension spring was appreciated as well as an in depth explanation of services provided. Ross was in and out before I even received a quote from the other guys!

Honest, Quick, Knowlegeable and Great Price. I highly recommend this company. I had an old garage door and the previous home owner was using the garage for storage only. I reached out to Ross and enquired as to their Patio door repair service, since I was planning to replace my Patio door because it was not functioning well. Nadav called me in 30 min and offered to come the same day (as he was in the area). He came to my house and took a look gave me an estimate which I accepted. In 2 hours he replaced the rollers with heavy duty ones, replaced the channel with a stainless steel one adjusted the door. It now works as if it is like new. Great Job done by Nadav. He saved me a major expense of replacing the complete Patio Door.

Torsion spring broke on our garage door. Customer service rep who initially took my call and Ross were very professional. Ross called me back and gave a window of time of when he would be available and then called about 10 min before he arrived within the window of time given to say that he was on his way. Garage door works great after the broken spring was replaced , the 2 vertical cables that fell off were put back into their places and the chain was greased. Ross completed the repair in a very efficient manner. Will definitely call GVA Garage Doors again.

Prompt efficient service at a reasonable price! I called Ross after reading a few reviews and I do agree with others. My garage door had a problem where it would lift the door and not stop at the top until it crashed into the housing. Called Ross, he came by the same day and found the issue, a broken switch. Although my opener was an older model, Ross didn't pressure me to replace the opener, instead he advised that he could find a replacement part. He was back the next day, replaced the broken switch. Thanks Ross for saving me from an expensive replacement.

Great experience will recommend Found them on google search, contacted them, they very promptly replied back without any time delay, we agreed on payment terms, they scheduled me and the technician was very prompt on updates on his expected time of arrival, he came and I didn’t had to hang around him, he completed his work very fast. My new Amarr single-car garage door with custom colour arrived a couple of weeks later than promised, but this seems to have been an issue with the supplier rather than with GVA themselves. They made good on the delay by upgrading the door at no charge. Once here, Marco installed the door quickly and professionally. He worked creatively and professionally around some special issues in my 85 year old garage. The end result is perfect and I couldn't be happier with my new garage door. It looks good and operates smoothly. My car will sleep peacefully.

Would highly recommend for any door repair needs. Quick response to my online request for info on repairing a patio door that was not opening or closing due to a damaged track....gave me pricing based on my pictures I sent. Spoke to them, had my questions answered and set up a service call. Service technician was definitely knowledgeable and friendly and completed the repair quite quickly and efficiently. Ross replaced our garage door springs today. He was right on time for the scheduled time. I particularly liked the technical knowledge he has about the garage doors springs. He talked me through the things that we need to pay attention to during the installation process. Our garage doors have some add-on forms for insulation. He calculated the requirements for the springs in order to use proper parts. Lubricated every joint of the garage door and tested thoroughly when finished the installation. Very impressive!

Garage door broke down suddenly and didnt know where to call. Googled and found this awsome garage door repair company. Luckily, Ross came within 1hr I made the call. He explained me all my options and answered all of my questions. I changed my 25 yr old garage motor to a new one. He came back with the new motor to replace after a few hours. We had an emergency because the bottom bracket broke and in trying to replace it, the whole door crashed down ! Both cables and both brackets were broken plus ... 🙁 Luckily Ross came quickly and it was no problem to him at all. He is so experienced and skillful - an absolute professional for garage doors ! Super impressed. I contacted a few companies about issues with three doors in our house – Ross was both the most responsive and the most competitively priced. He fixed everything he could on his first visit, then did some legwork to identify an exact match for our broken handle set, and even figured out I could get it for free under the manufacture’s warranty, saving me hundreds of dollars! We had a positive experience with GVA Garage Doors, starting with being informatively guided through the process of choosing a garage door with windows, being kept up to date during the waiting period for the door to arrive, as well as the installation process. Ross was quick to note and correct an error on the window style and type of springs that arrived with the order; these corrections were completed within a few days. During previous years and until last summer we had a lot of trouble with an older sliding glass patio door in our home. The GVA technician was much better than anyone else we had previously engaged. He actually diagnosed our problem and worked carefully to repair the door. When the technician had finished his work the door worked like new. It still works like new. Ross provided excellent service replacing garage door springs. From the initial phone call providing an estimate, arriving within the hour, and replacing the springs, he provided excellent professional service. He ensured the right springs were used for the weight of the door and checked that they were properly torqued to balance the door as well as lubricating the entire system. I am writing this review to express how happy I am with the service I just got recently - we had an issue with our garage door not closing at all this long weekend and kudos for your Company to be only one of those that stayed opened for customer like us in this long weekend in BC.... 5 stars also because the service was great (the person came very fast and explained the issue with the door very well so we know what to do next time it happens) huge thank you!!

Ross is amazing and had great customer service. He repaired our garage door as well as installed new tumbler locks when needing done in a hurry; he was prompt and available on short notice. We needed him to come back to repair our lock due to a key being broken off inside lock and he did so at no charge in such a timely fasion. It was much appriciated and we will definately be storing this number for all our needs as well as reffering to friends and family.

We just moved into a new place, but the key could not turn the lock. I called GVA and someone came within 35 minutes. He fixed the lock for us and gave us a new set of keys. I have dealt with previous locksmiths before, but GVA by far gave the most reasonable pricing. The locksmith also gave us some professional advice about the moulding around the door. I am more than pleased with their service. I have definitely found my go-to locksmith. Highly recommend!

I had a new side mount garage door opener installed. They installed the unit and did some necessary repairs to my existing garage door. The price was better then another quoted I received for the same opener. The best part was that I had a problem a few weeks after (after I had paid for everything) and the new unit stopped working. We had our garage door spring snapped yesterday night and called them today morning to fix the spring. He and trainee Justin were curious, explained what they thought was wrong and showed me. They had the parts to fix it, and then checked that everything worked. Our garage door broke down when we closed it last night. We took a look and found out that the torsion spring broke. At 11 pm I sent a request for service, got a call at 8:30 am in the morning, and Ross was here by 9:30 am. Our garage door torsion springs were replaced by 10:30 am.
